About Dr. Adria Amenti, MSTCM DAOM LAc

Dr. Adria Amenti is a member of the Society for Acupuncture Research, a non-profit organization devoted to advancing and disseminating scientific research into acupuncture and related therapies in order to inform global health care and strengthen evidence-based medical practice.

In 2009, her clinic was selected as an official shadow site by Stanford Medical School. She continues to welcome and educate 3rd and 4th year medical students about the theory and techniques of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Amenti lives in Alameda with her family and a very mean (but terribly cute) black cat, Spooky. She continues to record and perform professionally nationally and internationally as a solo and ensemble artist.

"My area of acupuncture specialization is pain relief. I see patients with acute and chronic pain issues on a daily basis: orthopedic problems, sports injuries, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, arthritis, scoliosis, spinal stenosis, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive stress injuries, frozen shoulder, fibromyalgia, TMJ, irritable bowel and other GI pain, groin and back pain during pregnancy.

I first found my calling to the healing professions while providing music for hospice. I considered allopathic medicine, chiropractic and osteopathy but chose Traditional Chinese Medicine because I felt it correctly acknowledges the body has incredible ability to return itself to balance, given the right support. It also provides a powerful balance of science and art, methodology and intuition, which appeals to my dual scientific/creative nature. In addition to a Masters and Doctorate degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in astronomy and math, completed graduate work in theoretical physics and have worked as a professional musician in multiple genres for over three decades."
